Backyard Cottage

This former garage was converted into a spacious and light-filled cottage, to serve as a backyard retreat for the client and a dwelling place for visiting family.  A monitor and sweeping interior arches underscore the structure’s openness and verticality, while the sunporch lets the sunlight in. This cottage’s versatility is in the details: a flip down bed accommodates visitors, then stows away for indoor recreation or family gatherings.
