Located adjacent to the Lafayette reservoir watershed, this remodel and addition features warm woods and sleek modern accents, including reclaimed redwood sourced from a nearby site.  The focus was on flexible, scalable communal space, to be shared with friends and family: the home features an open kitchen, with sliding glass doors that lead onto the picturesque hillside courtyard, complete with outdoor kitchen and dining area.
